ABOUT ME
I am a data scientist at my core.
My interests lie in the field of artificial intelligence and personalized medicine. I have over a decade of experience in the field and more than half of that as a Bioinformatics Scientist in a diagnostic setting.
This decade I’m embarking upon a new academic journey back to graduate school to get my Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences and acquire expertise in integrating AI and Machine Learning algorithms to answer complex questions about human health and disease risk.
Prior Research Experience
I have prior expertise in the development of clinical diagnostic tools and pipelines for Whole-exome, whole-genome sequencing analysis, Mitochondrial genome diagnostics, and Targeted Constitutional and Cancer Panels. This was in the Genomic Diagnostics Laboratory at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, PA, USA.
EARLY CAREER..
In my first role as a programmer/analyst at the Rat Genome Database (RGD), I built comprehensive data visualization platforms for the rat, mouse, and human genome.
This was part of a massive collaborative effort in the development and maintenance of a Model Organism Database(MOD).
I worked closely with curators and built multiple applications that automated data curation via the development of tools and massive data import pipelines to allow researchers to answer questions that correlate the genotype to the phenotype.
